BlueSky adds to awards tally with Cobis Supporting Member of the Year

22 May 2019

BlueSky has won another industry accolade, further cementing its reputation as one of the leading providers of education support and innovation to schools worldwide.

COBIS – the Council of British International Schools – has named BlueSky its Supporting Member of the Year in recognition of the company's work with schools and leaders to improve efficiency in areas including performance management, collaboration, and professional development

It follows BlueSky's win at the prestigious 2019 BETT Awards, where it was recognised for its pioneering technology in the innovation in leadership and management category.

BlueSky was nominated for the COBIS award by St Paul's School in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for work on the world-class school's staff development and review project.

"BlueSky has helped us to implement a more targeted and structured approach to CPL and has provided us with a great platform for continuing to share best practice," said Louise Simpson, Headteacher at St Paul's, the first South American School to be recognised by the UK government as a British School Overseas.

Announcing BlueSky's win at the COBIS Annual Conference, Tatjanja Guadalope, COBIS Membership Officer, said: "BlueSky's work with St Paul's exemplifies the high standards and creativity that we look for in our awards and has helped the school to give staff ownership of the development process to excellent effect."

Denise Inwood, BlueSky Managing Director, said the Cobis award was a particularly significant accolade for the company as it was voted for by schools themselves.

"We are delighted with the award, coming as it does from the people who use BlueSky every day, and we're grateful to the St Paul's and the other schools we work with for their support. Helping the international school community and staff to work more efficiently and effectively means we are helping them to deliver an outstanding education to children around the world and that has always been the goal of what we do."

Other COBIS schools that BlueSky works with include Doha College, Qatar, which praised the flexibility of the platform, the way it can be made tailored to suit a school's particular needs and is "simple to use and suitable for all staff".

The British School in the Netherlands said that introducing BlueSky meant that "For the first time we have a global view across the school that enables us to support our staff and allocate resources accordingly. All applications and authorisations for CPL programmes go through BlueSky".

The COBIS award is the third accolade for the company this year. Besides the BETT award, BlueSky was also shortlisted in the 2019 Education Resources Awards (ERA).
