Are you performance management ready for the new academic year?

1 June 2018

With the final half-term upon us, now is the time for senior leaders to ensure that new policies and systems are in place in time for the next academic year.

As well as preparing for curriculum changes, many schools and colleges take advantage of the final term to get one step ahead on their performance management strategy. At BlueSky we initiate new clients onto our performance management solution throughout the year; however, the summer term always proves a popular time for senior leaders looking to upgrade their current system before the start of the new academic year.

With our wealth of experience, I know all too well that the key reason for not implementing change is lack of time and concerns about getting a new system thoroughly up and running quickly and efficiently. This is why, when developing BlueSky, we made it our priority to create a well laid out solution which could be set up in just a few hours - one that is easy to use and intuitive and one that really does save teachers time. All we need to get your school fully operational are a few hours with a member of your senior leadership team (SLT).

The first step in implementing BlueSky is to create your organisation profile which we tailor to the specific needs of your school. We then create staff portfolios for your entire team – teachers, assistants and support staff – which they can access throughout their career and even take with them when they move on to pastures new. Our support team - who are there to support you throughout your journey – can visit your school to deliver bespoke face-to-face hands-on training aligned to your priorities to support staff engagement.

Whilst BlueSky is incredibly quick to set-up, many of our clients choose to develop their usage over time. A popular scenario is to begin using BlueSky for performance management, then progress to using it to rigorously track CPD requirements, to evaluate training, for mid-year reviews, for lesson observations and formal evaluation. This is one of many scenarios and we pride ourselves on tailoring the approach to the needs of our clients.

Strategic decision-making is top of the bill for our SLT community which is why we have made it easy for you to aggregate large sets of data and pull off real-time reports providing a top down or bottom up view of your school or network. You can also drill down into granular data to gain a clear picture of the current state of play at any time.

However you decide to use BlueSky on your own school improvement journey, on-going support is just a phone call away and you will be pleased to know that you won't have to sit and listen to a range of options on an automated service - you get through to our friendly and dedicated support team immediately.

Here's what a couple of our clients had to say about implementing BlueSky:
