Understand the impact of speech and language difficulties on pupils. Which areas this affects and how.
Speech and language difficulties have an impact on a wide range of SEN – from pupils who are dyslexic to ASD. Statistics show there is a high rate of people, mainly men, in prison with speech and language difficulties some of these for aggressive or violent behaviour.The difficulties seen in school are varied and understanding why these occur with case studies can develop strategies which can impact on classroom practice, differentiation and inclusion into the whole-school experience.
