Handling Difficult Conversations
King Alfred's A Specialist Sports College
Date:Tuesday 09 October 2012 Time:9.30am - 4.00pmCourse description
How do you handle conversations with people who are angry or distressed? Or with people who are stubborn or unrealistic or being deliberately difficult? Or where personal things are getting in the way of professional responsibilities?
This workshop is for professionals who, because of their roles, must sometimes have difficult conversations with colleagues, parents or young people. Problems escalate when we avoid these conversations or handle them badly. Sometimes we concentrate on the presenting problem because we feel unable to tackle a more significant underlying problem. Sometimes the things unsaid are far more important than the things said.Training Facilitator
