Counselling Skills
King Alfred's A Specialist Sports College
Date:Thursday 06 December 2012 Time:9.30am - 4.00pmCourse description
Not everybody wants or needs to become a counsellor but lots of people need counselling skills in their work with young people. Professionals already have skills: this course will be an opportunity to develop those skills, understand some theory, try out different approaches and develop the confidence to go a little bit further in conversations with young people without feeling overwhelmed. We will think together about some of the unspoken communication between people, the things not said, the feelings buried or disguised. Although there will be some theoretical input, the emphasis of the day will be practical and experiential. We will share ideas, experiences and learn together.
The day will be of particular interest to professionals working with young people in education, health, social services or other professional contexts.Training Facilitator
